I say this because I was there twice with my friends while I was down south recently. I was impressed by the staff, the drinks and the price - not expensive at all, compared to other bars in Saigon but you will get the same quality of drink, maybe higher service quality and a better atmosphere. You can choose a seat inside both down or upstairs with air conditioning or outside with a fan. Another pleasant thing about this place was the lack of prostitutes hanging around. I was surprised. Maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough.
Lush Bar
Ly Tu Trong Street- District 1
Ho Chi Minh City
Looks nice, I would love to try it next time in town.
ReplyDeleteGod,
ReplyDeleteProstitutes hanging around is all part of the chic atmosphere in any HCMC bar. Live a little, they won't bite unless that's what you want....for a price, like everything else in the city!
Looks like a great place!
ReplyDeletecoolz! will give a shot when i'm at HCMC again ...
ReplyDeleteLooks very chic. Wonder how much a beer costs.
ReplyDeleteOh, why is that tree painted white on the bottom?
ReplyDeletefrom the outside..it looks like a hut! the interior looks posh!
ReplyDeletelooks like a good plac eto hang out, and have a few drinks.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is really a gem. As an American-born Viet Kieu, I visited Vietnam for the first time last year while on assignment and had a wonderful time in HCM and Da Nang. Except for the dozens of giant mosquitoe bites and insanely humid weather. We had bad luck checking out the local bars when we went, as we learned that a few days prior, there was a major crackdown on prostitutes and drugs at all the clubs. Reading your blog is definitely inspiring me to plan another visit soon, thank you!
ReplyDeletedrifter1dc, I will check out next time then :)
ReplyDeletejunebee, I cant remmeber but it's not really expensive. Tree are painted in White to get people attention.
Kat, thanks

ReplyDeletehi thorin,im andy!!!!do u remember me?hihi.Thorin,i love HIPHOP
ReplyDeleteThorin, nice to know that you're the owner of Lush. Too bad I didn't catch you there. I was in Vietnam just this December, and Lush has made my trip quite exciting. One of the manager was awesome and for that reason I kept on coming back. Hope to meet you there on my next visit to Vietnam. Rosette
ReplyDeleteyeap, Lush is verycool place for young people hanging out. compared with Apo, the service is much better. in Apo, i often feel underestimating eyes from waiter/waitress and even guard if i do not come with a luxurious transport!
ReplyDeletehowever, if saying not much prostitutes, not really. last time i came there with 1 swedish couple, when my girlfriend and i went away to dance, the boy was offered some prostitutes by a nasty guy. oops, pissed off!
Arlette
Does LUSH only play hip hop on friday nights?
ReplyDeleteI've only been to Gossip and the music wasn't that good. I heard LUSH plays great hip hop.
And yes Arlette, Vietnamese really care about your mean of transport. In Vietnam, the better the transport, means the more wealthy you are...
hahaha dude... the trees are painted white at the bottom as a means of protection from termites.
ReplyDeleteI have some memmories with someone here, its a sad story, but sweet memories, anyway, i still come here sometimes
ReplyDeletei have a friend who works there she says its a good place also i missed the chance of going there when i was in Vn last sept all clubs have hoes its part of asia night life only if u want that kinda thing anyway will be there in feb08 so see u all there
ReplyDeleteLush Bar from my understaning is owned by a group of Viet Qs.It was opened and designed by an old Vietnamese friend named Viet!
ReplyDeleteTrees are painted white to make them visible in the dark.
ReplyDeleteBAR LUSH IS A THIEF! THEIR STAFFS THERE ARE CRIMINALS! My wife went to this bar, left her wallet in the locker, came back the wallet was stolen. Not much money but the important documents are gone!!! Obviously, they denied it, have no responsibility! One month later, a fukin dickhead showed up and pretended that he found her documents in a bin in a swimming pool in a garbage can. Hey common, do u think we're stupid enough that we didnt know you're a thief?
ReplyDeleteGUYS DONT EVER COME TO THIS PLACE, WORST PLACE EVER, ALL THIEFS IN THERE, IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOOSE YOUR BELONGINGS.
LUSH!!! Really a nice and clean place I've ever seen in Saigon for entertaiment afterwork.I feel comfortale, friendly, funny and safety when entering this Bar.we can enjoy great music and meet many kinds of polite people at LUSH. I don't think there's a thief here.Maybe someone who's careless not to pay attention to their belongings at such crowded venue.Otherwise there's a notice at front door to check in handbag... You are always welcome at LUSH, let's try....
ReplyDeleteThe club is full of prostitutes and their boyfriends. When I came their with my girlfriend some Vietnamese gangters started pushing us around on the dance floor. It was a big group, bt I pushed back. Next thing I know, the gangsters start punching me and security is pulling me away. When my girlfriend complained security did nothing and took the gangters side. She called the cops who did nothing and the gangsters took off by then. The short guy in the group said he was the owner and was friends with the gangsters. Stay away as it is run by Viet gangsters.
ReplyDeleteWas in Vietnam for a few days. Visited Lush Thursday October 31. Loved the bar. Much better than Apocalypse Now. Fewer expats and nice ladies. Met a beautiful girl from Hanoi, unfortunately forgot to exchange info... I liked this place a lot. Only complaint is the lack of a dedicated area for dancing...
ReplyDeleteVELVET is BETTER !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it !!!!
as there last night. Got attacked by three of the parking lot staff as i left. They beat me with steel pipes. Now I’m laying in a bed and can’t move for the pain to my back, can hardly see out of my left eye, and have a badly damaged right knee.
ReplyDeleteThe three staff tried to lift my wallet and phone from my pocket. I yelled for the manager and then these thugs came at me with metal pipes. Management refused to get police. They said it wasn’t their problem.
Time for more pain killers.
Nice man, just headed there tonight on the recommendation of a friend, hope it's not too dead considering it's a Wednesday, looks like a great place...
ReplyDeleteQuite worthwhile information, lots of thanks for your post.
