Flesh Meat

One of my friends from the province of Thai Binh told me that it is famous for cat meat. They kill thousands of cats every day and there are heaps of restaurants along the main streets there. Cats from everywhere, other cities, from the mountains, and cats also control and kill thousands of rats in the fields. I was attending my colleague's wedding and I was shocked that he served cat meat. It's hard to tell the difference between cat meat and chicken if you are not from Thai Binh . Residents of Thai Binh say that cat meat can release your bad luck and they eat it early in the month.

I don't know but cat meat seems a very
unlikely course for me to serve, but
to each his own.

I don't know that much about cat meat...though I have seen how cats are dressed before they are cooked. I do not know if I would ever try it...I supposed it would depend upon how it smelled and how close its texture is to chicken. Does cat meat have a lot of fat???

I deeply love my cats and felt "sick" when reading your original post. Then, I remembered that I had a steak for lunch.

Hi all,
Cat meat is so popular only in this particular area, dog meat is more common. I only ate Cat once and didn't know until later, but cat's meat is like chicken and also yummy. Why don't you guys try sometime, a good solution for Tossing Pebbles in the Stream.

I've tried a few unique foods, never cat.

I also never ate raw fish until trying sushi when I moved to Cali.

I won't stand line waiting for cat food, but I would try it.

Great blog. Now I gotta go eat!

Hi all,
I think we do eat all kinds of meat in Viet Nam and in Asia as well. Why don't you try sometimes to taste the different.
Cheers all

I have been to Ho Chi Minh City and while staying there, come across many families playing and loving their cats and dogs but was not able to understand, they were happy to keep them as pet or as delicious food.
